Course curriculum
Prior yoga or somatic experience is not required for this trauma-informed training as the curriculum is designed to support you in experiencing your own embodied self-healing. We move gently with respect for your story and encourage choice, self-determination, and choice throughout the program. By establishing a connection with your body, you are supported in becoming more fluent in your body's language of emotion and sensation, and learn tools for how to respond to your body and regulate your nervous system. We believe it is essential that you acquire the skills for knowing how to bring yourself out of a heightened state before going into deeper somatic healing experiences. The intention of this program is to give you the time to tend to your trauma history so that you have the stability and confidence to then support others.. Somatic Embodiment Yoga is the foundational program for our Somatic Yoga Therapist Training Program. Graduates from this program are given the opportunity for direct entry into the Somatic Yoga Therapist Training.
